  • Jesus was a Jew, so he would have gone by the standard Jewish calendar ... today is Sat, 16 February 2008 - 10th of Adar I, 5768 ... so year 1 A.D., would have been 3760 ... so while he was alive, he would have thought it was just before that ... ... but He was living in a part of the Roman Empire ... it is possible that He may have followed the Roman calendar ... He probably had a sense of humour, yes ...
  • I'll accept the thoughts of Jesus as to the calendar date. As to whether Jesus had a sense of humor, to the extent he was god, and god created man, then he had to have had a sense of humor -- to have created us? Of course he had a sense of humor...or He was totally insane.
  • Good old Jesus H. Christ probably made fart jokes as a kid and laughed when guys got kicked in the crotch. He was a person, not a robot.
  • The Jews had their own calendar, and they calculated their years based on the Exodus from Egypt. Takei-Shan has worked it out (thanks).Did Jesus have a sense of humour? Yes, indeed. One of the best examples is Mark 11:27-33 where the Pharisees demand to know where Jesus' authority comes from: 27 They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him. 28 By what authority are you doing these things? they asked. And who gave you authority to do this? 29 Jesus replied, I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. 30 John's baptism— was it from heaven, or from men? Tell me! 31 They discussed it among themselves and said, If we say, 'From heaven', he will ask, 'Then why didn't you believe him?' 32 But if we say, 'From men' (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.) 33 So they answered Jesus, We don't know. Jesus said, Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things. === Look at that final verse. It is pure satire. You can imagine the wink of the eye to the disciples and followers. "You won't say? Then I won't either." There are other examples too, especially where Jesus uses exaggeration to get his message across. This is a common type of humour in the middle east, even today.
  • I think he did and still does have a sense of humor.
