Have you ever seen someone strike out and verbally put someone down over stuff that really makes very little difference to anyone, like an opinion? Do you think they are jealous? Are they just stirring up trouble to get attention for themselves?

Yes I've seen this happen. Sometimes the person doing this is seriously stressed out or upset about something and have a "hair trigger" and get angry at the drop of a hat for no good reason. I've also seen this happen in dysfunctional families where the parents and children have unhealthy codependent relationship stuff going on.

Oh yes, I've seen it happen many, many times both in real life and here on AB. It's amazing how verbally abusive people can become over a difference of OPINION, which is inherently neither right nor wrong, just different. I think that sometimes people in such a situation are jealous or simply insecure with their own position. But honestly, who really knows what makes other people tick?
