well, if its a dry back rub, (like with a shirt or something) then nails and the heel of your hand and massaging EVERYWHERE. i hate it when someone only focuses on your say shoulders, and you itch/ache to be rubbed any place BUT the shoulders...if its a skin backrub, (like with no shirt) then plenty of GOOD smelling lotion/oil. i hate it when the massagist uses crappy smelling lotion...they rub it in so well that the smell follows you around for DAYS.
