You can wear a black or a white top easily or if you want to look more earthly, you can match the hue in the green to a beige hue. As far as which type of top, that depends. You can were a dress shirt, like a mans shirt, tied in the front, or you can were a cropped, sleeveless shirt, with a decorative trim. So on and so on: it just depends on the look you want.

I saw a girl in green crop linen pants worn with a white short sleeved cotton shirt with blue pinstripes, and a gold belt the other day and thought she looked fabulous. You could also wear blue, brown or even a different shade of green. Don't wear red (you'll look like an elf), purple, black or pink with them, but most other colours should work.

Depends on what shade of green. You're always safe with a white top. Pastel green would need a pastel top. Lime green - navy or black. Olive green - beige, black or red. Dark green - pretty much anything in an autumn tone.
