Have you ever lost your wallet/purse at a store? Did someone turn it in? How long did it take you to notice it was gone?

I didn't but my mom did. She forgot her purse in a pizza place when we went one time for dinner and she hadn't realized until late that nite. Unfortunately, they were closed the next day so my mom as in a frenzy! But thankfully, they called and told us they had her purse safe and sound!

No, my specialty was leaving it on the roof of my car and driving off with it there. Sometimes it still was when I came to a stop and other times I lost it and other cars drove over the whole thing :-)

Several times and I rarely carry a purse, in part because I have a tenancy to forget it somewhere. The first time I left it in a restaurant and remembered before I got to the car, but when we went back in it was gone. Recently I left a cashmere scarf in a restaurant and called them when I got back to the office but they said nobody turned it in. It's very disheartening to know there are such nasty people in the world.

I've had my purse stolen a couple of times. Two years ago I needed to go to DMV and had my Social Security card in my purse when it was stolen. About a week later the purse and wallet were returned to me, but much of my personal information had been taken. Later I found out that the person who returned my wallet had also stolen my identity. I got her though. The idiot left a return P.O. box on the package that contained my returned wallet and purse. The woman put that same address on the fraudulent statements so I handed the address over to the police and my attorney and the handled the situration. Fortunately, I was able to reverse the damage, but it took quite awhile to fix what that woman did to my credit! Although I'm not happy about the incident, I learned to protect myself against identity theft. I'm ashamed to admit that it took near financial devistation before I did anything to prevent it from happening again. Needless to say, I am very careful what I carry with me now.

no. but dozens and dozens of times I have found wallets and purses...opened them to find out who they belonged to and then tried to track them down to return it...I worked at an airport and often had to check many airlines to see where the passenger was going....
