  • If they do claim that, then it's a lie.
  • Who the hell knows.... Why do they say that caffeine breaks the word of wisdom and they still drink sodas 24/7.... there are a few questionable things about the mormons... but my guess is that we'll never know.
  • Early Mormons were called "pioneers" and they didn't even exist 4,000 years ago. Nephites are never said to have used a device which used the earth's magnetic field to point north, but rather a device which pointed the way they should go and had functioning which would seem to be contrary to the traditional magnetic compass and which is described at times, (and accurately enough) using the word "compass". - The Jaredites never referred to what they built as "submarines", though they were designed such that they could survive violent storms and buffeting that might at times have forced the boats underwater, so "submarine" is a semi-accurate word. Enough to justify its usage, but not enough to justify the presumption of some contraption designed to be used in intelligent underwater navigation. You might as well call a corked bottle carrying a note a "submarine". - Steel is a much more complex issue, which you have elsewhere evidenced only a shallow apprehension of. However, I have not the time or will to elucidate the matter further here. - Furthermore, none of these things you claim invention of were actually said to be invented by these ancient peoples.
  • Shush! No thinking in the "Religion" section allowed!
  • Sean didn't have time to go into the claim that the Book of Mormon mentions steel before it was invented. Well, I addressed it in a comment to another question. So let me just post the relevant portion of that comment here: As for your claims that steel was not known at the time Nephi left Jerusalem (600 BC), you should check your history. The earliest examples of steel date back to the 1400's BC in East Africa (http://tinyurl.com/2lhkp6). The Hittites also discovered how to make it (http://tinyurl.com/6vtqd) and that civilization went from around 1800 BC to 1200 BC (http://tinyurl.com/33pw4o). So, while it may not have been common. (In most of the early steel implements the steel was made accidentally) it was around long before the time of Nephi and a rich man like Laban could have had a sword made of it.
  • Where is the archeological proff? www.arkdiscovery.com
  • um, the mormons didnt invent any of these. These devices were never around 2-4 thousand years ago.
  • good point no one but a indoctrinated believer can explain the lies and contradictions. to all others it is clear they are all lies
  • What a brainwash! A classic example of a satanic cult camouflaged as Christianity. My 2 cents.
  • And when was the Book of Morons written again, 1996 or was it 1997?
