I don't know what the "right" answer is, but in my opinion "taking a break" from each other means "broken up" - I don't see a difference between the two. And...when that is agreed upon, I think each person is free to do what he/she wants during their time apart.

if you said lets take a break, i take that to mean he can do as he pleases, you needed to discuss the ins and outs of this break really. Although it was pretty quick work from your bf he could of just been on the rebound and so had sex with her. It isnt nice knowing that he doesnt wanna talk through things and just shags someone else, but i wouldnt so much say it is cheating....although reservations would go through my mind about getting back on with him....especially as well if he is the jealous type that doesnt trust you.

You're broken up, thats what I would take that to mean..Rachel should've just gotten over it, it was obvious that Ross was sorry for it, and would've never done it again..

I have to agree that "a break" means broken up, but if he sleeps with someone else that night, he doesn't sound very emotionally involved. I would hold out for better.

hmmm...maybe this jealousy goes both ways? have you two thought about sitting down and really talking this out instead of just breaking it off when things get frustrating?

i say kick him in the nuts for being a dick by no trusting you enough and you should sit him down and say that you have nuthing going on between you

Technically he is single, so he has the right to be with whoever he chooses. You broke up with him, no matter how you word it. You are either going out or not. Which is it?
