In most cases I would be inclined to believe it.
-
Hmm, that's a good point. Most people that really are happy would express it otherwise, not using such a trite phrase.
-
People vary so much its hard to make such a generalization. Sometimes that could be true and sometimes not. You'd have to know the people well to infer something like that.
-
No. I'm happily married, and if you asked me, I would tell you that it is so. I don't go around the bank or the grocery store saying "I'm happily married" to everyone I meet, but my friends can see for themselves it is true, and now you know it too.

not at all - sometimes are just genuinely happy and they want to share that love around. i prob wouldn't say it if i were trying to cover something up...
-
I really have no earthly idea. This is a very generalized question that's not applicable to every single couple. Sorry.
-
Not necessarily.
-
I have always believed that if people have to point things out to you that it may not necessarily be true (although it may..). More often than not, it's fairly obvious who is what by how they act - without saying a word.
-
no, not really. I have never thought about it. If they say they are i think they are. Maybe i'll start paying more attention to those who say that.
-
No, I say I am happily married, and I am.

The phrase "happily married" is a perfect example of an oxymoron and contradiction j/k!! Seriously, I tend to believe people when they say that. No harm in doing so.
