Stop teasing it.
-
be more polite and gentleness.
-
Get them accustomed to you cuddling it, so it learns there is nothing to be scared of - maybe feed it a treat when its sitting on your knee to associate you with something positive. Its only natural for a prey animal like that to fear you - you are huge and entering its hutch looks like an invasion of its private space, which naturally unsettles them.
-
You should make a nice meal out of her. That will stop the fear.
-
Make funny faces and tickle her from time to time. Play roll-over (you'll have to show her first). She'll get used to you.
-
Hand-feeding and sitting near her/him and talking to them might work.

Time and sensitivity. You need to handle your guinea pigs everyday, even for a few minutes. Have the pig into the area of your home that you are in the most. Seeing and hearing you all the time helps. Also, it may be an age issue. I have two guinea pigs who still do not like getting picked up all the time. They are hitting 1 year old and they are now allowing us to pet them in the cage and not running away. One, who was the most scared, will just cuddle in your arm and sleep or watch what is going on. She even does not jump out of my hands when I put her back in.

guinea pigs have a natural fear of being picked up so most likely no matter what you do you will have to chase them in the cage to pick them up but the more you handle them the more comfortable they are when you are actually holding them.

i had the same problem with my guinea pig and it will take some time but slowly increase the amount of time you spend with it each day until it is comfortable with you and make sure your not doing anything to make it scared of you. a good amount of time to start with for 3 days to a week is 5 or ten minutes and increase this time for 5 to 7 minutes per week. continue this for about a month and it should all work out.

Mine was VERY afraid of me at first, but now shes very used to me. You just need to give her time to get used to you everyday. Hold her everyday and talk to her and she gradually get used to you, than whenever you walk by she'll squeak for you to pick her up and cuddle her!! No worries, just give her time, like other small animals.

when you approach the cage,do so quietly, whisper the piggies name and quietly look into its cage.hand it a treat such as a pice of carrot or romaine lettuce, gently put hour hand with the treat in the cage and see if your piggie will nibble on the treat.if you can get the guinea pig to do this then your on your way to having it getting use to you.i have a 5 week old piggie,i just got her a week ago, shes eating out of my hand.pick your piggie up and hold it everyday so it will get used to you. im glad i could help you.
