It depends on what kind of support, for if you actually sponsor a team or contribute money, that is one thing, but if you just cheer for them and go to a few games, that is different. If you are serious about them, you should get to know the coach, and if he is not a respectable man (alcoholic, druggie, womanizer, etc), you should reconsider supporting his team. You should also consider if the team does drugs or is invovled with steroids, for that looks bad obviously. Lastly, Michael Vick had serious ethics issues, and that didn't reflect well on his team.
