Question

Help answer this question below.

After seeing several Qs today about relationships gone bad because of intoxication, I am now curious. Do you drink and enjoy getting drunk? If so, why? I'm not a teetotaller, but I really don't enjoy getting intoxicated or its after-effects.

I love to drink. I also love to get drunk.

I do not drink to excess and drinking has never caused me any problems in my life.

I have a wonderful relationship, I go to work every day, pay my bills, and I consider myself to be quite well-adjusted.

I very much enjoy my cocktails, and I will not apologize for it. :)

I've done it quite a few times. Makes you wonder why people say things like "lets go out and have "fun" or "come on , we deserve to "relax" and proceed to get wasted and feel like shit LOL

I can't drink hard liquor anymore because it makes me chemically depressed. I mean for days. But, I do enjoy my beer. MMMM beer.

I drink, but I don't like getting drunk. I prefer to drink craft beers which are usually higher in alcohol than the mass produced beers. I don't need to drink to many craft beers to get a pleasant buzz.
My ex-wife didn't drink often, but when she did she couldn't stop. And she was a mean drunk.

Having a drink is one thing, drinking because you want to be intoxicated is another. The very definition of intoxication is that you are putting too many toxins into your body! I was married to a man who indulged in a lot of drugs/alcohol and it negatively affected his judgment, both in the short and long term. Drinking for the sake of getting drunk isn't my idea of a good time. I don't want to escape reality, I want to live it.

I like to drink maybe a couple of drinks on the weekends, but alcohol usually makes me feel tired. I'm a happy and sleepy drunk, but it wouldn't bother me if I never drank alcohol again.

I've never been drunk, nor have I ever really had a desire to be. People are always trying to get me to go out drinking with them and I just don't see the appeal. I have had drinks before, but I just can't see losing control and humiliating myself as fun.

    Maybe it's just me. :p

I occasionally have a drink or two but that's it. I don't enjoy getting drunk either and the last time I did it was about 36 years ago.
