  • Interesting question. It seems it would be simpler to use a more modern description of the parties' collective tendencies. I'd stay far from the term 'liberal,' though. Too many conservatives throw it around as a perjorative without really even knowing what the word means. But I'd go for progressive and conservative. It pretty much defines the parties.
  • It's a name. Call them whatever you want. I think the names don't really matter at all. better names: Democrats: "The New Hippies" "The Hip-o-crits" "You-think-we-care" Republicans: "Yes-We-Are-Big-Business" "Anti-Illegal-Immigration Party" "No-New-Taxes Party"
  • The Republicans were traditionally the protectors of the concepts of being a republic, and the Democrats have always worked to create a democracy. The Democrats have succeeded, and we no longer have a republic. Now the opinions of the majority rule, and the will of the mob upheld. Most modern Republicans have caved in to easy profits gained from being a democracy, and no longer want a republic. The concept of democracy is socialist by nature, and has created a nation of lazy sloths, addicted to government handouts. The majority refuses to take responsibility for themselves, and places that liability on the government instead. We reap what we sow, and the harvest is coming.
