The Penalty Box is a place where the AB staff locks your account and you are unable to use the account. You can be in the Penalty Box for disobeying policies that includes attacking others, spamming, insults, avatar theft, trolling, and many other examples. The time on Penalty Box will vary, to one day to months, and even more depending on the offense that you have committed. If you do get Penalty Boxed, you will have your account locked like I said before. You will receive an e-mail saying that you've been stuck in the Penalty Box. The e-mail will say everything that you've need to know. You can still log in, but you cannot ask, answer, rate, comment, or moderate. Basically, you can't do anything on AB with that account. Here's a sample when I was stuck in the Penalty Box in June. EDIT I couldn't get the picture right when I was uploading it, so I will direct you to another answer that has the screenshots. http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/1985038

How do you know it was for that question? The person is a level 54. It could have been for another question. If they were pb'd for asking THAT question, the question should have been rejected, as well.
