No. He was gloriously imaginative - one of a kind. He was an innovator both in poetry and in illustration. His theology was his own. One literary critic wrote something like "If Blake was a Christian, he was the ONLY one." He preferred to think of Jesus as powerful - didn't like it that Jesus was meek.

Every artist needs to be a wee mad in able to be an artist. Completely sane people are just boring. I found william blake for the first time in a book called "skellig". Then I did my research and his poetry is just graet.
