Why are people always forever making drinks on soapoperas? is it some sort of subliminal advertising for liquor companies?you know what they are alaways drinking i mean straight rye with ice, and the only one 3 sheets to the wind is poor old sueellen.

Yes you are right there is subliminal advertising going on. The message is I can drink all day long and not get drunk. But the message is also saying that if you drink like they do on Dallas the impression is You are sophisticated, And the audience is more than likley stay at home moms who have loads of money and can afford to drink, now this is a tatic that is incorporated by the sponser of the show which happens to be a alcohol beverage company. And per episode there has to be a certain amount of drinks being mixed this tatic is as old as soap operas. good question
