  • Yes or something like it. It won't help against STD though.
  • Yes, I believe they were introduced in the 90s. Basically they are much larger to allow room for, uh, maneuvering. They never really caught on.
  • Yes I have heard of them but do not know very much about their workings
  • Yes but i can't tell you much about it :)
  • It works like a regular condom only it sits in the hole and a ring sits outside. You can't use both types at once though or the latex will tear.
  • Some of them make a crinkely noise, actually. Lots of info about it here... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22female+condom%22&btnG=Google+Search Of 100 women who use female condoms, 21 will become pregnant during the first year of typical use. Five will become pregnant with perfect use. And don't cringe, but some of them can be washed and re-used.
  • Yes - search for the brand name "Femidom". It is more cumbersome to use, but it is as effective as the male condom.

  • They are pretty cool! More expensive, but tougher and MUCH harder to tear. They cover a larger area of the female anatomy which gives a bit more protection. The only drawbacks I found were a bit of crinkly sounds and my partner said the wrinkles in it caused more stimulation for him and he couldn't 'last' as long as usual.

  • It is referred to as an IUD or intrauterinedevice.
  • Why would that answer get a minus an female condom is an iud

  • Yes, but they are not made out of the same material that a male condom is made out off. Its exactly like a male condom but opposite. It's actually better because it protects the outside lips, against more std's than a regular male latex condom would.
  • Well, first of all either you're a virgin or second you don't practice safe sex. The female condom has been around for years. My advice to you is to please educate yourself before you contract some disease or God forbid you DIE! If I sound mean or like a know-it-all it's only because I did'nt educate myself and contracted P.I.D. or pelvic inflammitory disease. A few years later I got married and we tried to start a family. I found out after numerous amounts of fertility tests and surgeries (often painful) that I was infertile. PLEASE learn from this answer and I wish you the absolute very best.
  • Used it once, couldn't stop laughing. It was just too clumsy and kinda ugly. Didn't feel safe either.
  • like what kind?
