How does tothpaste still come out in perfect stripes no matter how much you squeeze the tube?

It could be that the different colored ingredients are separated in the tube. Thus when you attempt to "squish" them together, it does no good, since they each have their own compartment with a partition, and still come out separated. Think about if you put three garden hoses together inside a large pipe. If you ran three different pastes within these hoses, they would come out in separate stripes, no matter how much you "squished" the pipe overall.
