I was wondering about that the other day when I saw a couple (I assume they were a couple, a man and a woman of about the same age) walking together but both with their phones out and texting away, I can only hope not to each other.

I dunno on this one. I email much more than I text. When I text someone I pull out my keyboard and text from my computer because doing it from my cell sux! The Emails that I send out are usually replies and hardly ever original messages from me. I keep to myself and have been labeled as a loaner for the most part :)

I think all this technology has made people, particularly young people, less adept at social skills----you see this with young people in customer service jobs----they often give poor customer service and are not conscientious of other people's needs.

I do think that text messages and emails can ruin our communication skills if we let them. However, I also think that they can help our communication skills if we let them.
