Are there scientists that that have left the country to engage in banned experiments and pratices here in north america, but have left in order to complete these studies in countries with laxed laws

I'd guess that embryonic stem cell research -- a breakthrough area of important medical progress -- has forced many working in this field to relocate outside the US, or do sabbaticals by associating with non-US institutions. The US will fall further behind the rest of the world in biotechnology, a result of Bush Republicans pandering to Christian fundamentalists. By suppressing the teaching of evolution, banning embryonic stem cell research, etc, they impose false values on all of us -- adults and children. It's all very sad indeed. Science in the US has become lost in religious insanity.
