When you are a legend like Celine, she can reference her colleagues with a "nod" to their music. In Taking Chances she says, "Talk to me.. Like Lovers do".... I'm sure Annie Lennox was aware that she was saying this and must have approved it. And when Celine did "River Deep Mountain High", she said "Like Tina Loves to Sing"... I don't think Celine wants to steal lyrics or cover music, I think that as a Canadian, she has incorporated other musicians and its widely accepted. She clearly has a pompous persona, but I think she works it into her diva identity.

There are several lines in songs that reminds of each other. I have heard songwriters being blamed for stealing the melody, but never lyrics.
