  • If a friend of mine needed money for something like that, they could have every penny I could spare. Gadgets can wait :-)
  • It depends on what your electronic gadget is, it's usefulness and price, and what illness your relative is having. If you can provide that information, I'd be glad to give you a more direct answer. (Is this the first time your friend is asking for money?) If it really is the first time, and the amount if reasonable and does not hinder your ability to pay your financial dues, then why not, do the right thing. (I am assuming that your friend is telling the truth) Cheers.
  • It depends on how good of a friend this is. I'm happy to help anyone out to an extent. I might help someone find different ways to get help paying for these bills, I might help by cooking meals for them or running errands or watching kids/pets instead of handing over cash. I guess it's difficult to say without being in the situation, though. I would never dream of asking a friend for money for my relative's expenses, and the only people I know who would ask me are the one's who would take advantage.
  • Yeah, you should. If they're really a friend at least. In fact, even if they're not. No electronic gadget is worth the life of another human being.
  • No, that person should have insurance to do that, otherwise the government should pay.
  • I've been swindled many times with that line. I would find out first hand if it was true then I would buy the medicine or whatever they needed. I will never again just hand the money over.
