so your saying a line worker gets between $2,330 and $3,000 U.S. per week?
which is close to $2,600 and $3,600 Australian per week
I think if you did a little research, the "unions have destroyed American Business" is a farce. While GM was complaining about Union workers and blaming them for their decline (they have lost money for the last five years) they were building new plants in China and Mexico. these were state of the art plants tha used less workers, and the workers had to do less. they never upgraded the plants in the US, so in many plants you still have people that have to manually move parts from one line to another, or still have manual wielders. (my father was one), in addition if you look at the medium income and standards of living in the US from 1955-2000, there has been a steady decline in the standard of living that corresponds with the steady decline of Union jobs. however there has been a steady increase in the wages of the CEO's. Oh, and what happen to the pension plans, scraped them for a 401K that invest money right back into the company you work for. BIG SCAM
