Help answer this question below.
yes and have been a member all my working life , while some union leaders have been corrupt most are hard working and protect the worker and their rights against bosses who would like nothing better than to pay minimum wages and no conditions... just look at the way most of the U.S. workers are treated ... rock bottom wages and zip conditions
No, but I believe the people currently union members are the only ones who have a decent wage and job protection since corporations seem to be running this country. Any company that gets a union deserves it.
No - i think unions (most of them) have destroyed many american businesses - is there a need - yes in some cases -
Yes ,IATSE,and am glad to be represented by the union. They are the backbone of the nation.
Will tonight ;)
HELL Yea The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades I will Be working for them Full time By the end of the year....
Yerp.
No. I think unions are just as corrupt as the government. I believe they had their place when the workers really ran them. When people started making their careers as union reps or lobbists with out ever working in the industry then it lost its direction.
No. My old man was w/ UAW though.
NO
Yes, Actor's Union I think.... Dont know why, it seems rather pointless to me.
I'm a member of Unison, which is the UK public services union.
Not currently. I have in the past, and have had good and bad experiences. I feel that unions CAN protect right of workers, but in many cases, the opposite occurs.
Nope. And never will again.
There once was a need for unions, but now the employment laws take care of the inequalities in the market. unions are nothing but bullying systems that get small gains for the employees and huge gains for the leadership.
YEAh but where i work if you dont belong in one youre usually the first to be fired for the littlest thing. rather pointless i say. I dont like being in the union but until the end of this month i belong to them.
Nopers!
No.

Thanks for your answer. I'm not in a union now...but I really liked being in one. The hospital I currently work at is one of those places where union supporters end up losing their jobs/. About five nurses just "left"....

oh yeah its the managements way of thinning us out ... that way they can screw the individual worker when it comes to wage negotiations and conditions , the management hate collective bargaining because it forces them to have to be fair and thats the last thing they want to have to do

yep, I agree..I am looking forward to leaving this state so I will be able to join a union again...
by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 4th, 2008
its a good feeling that for a few bucks a week your protected with industrial lawyers who will go into bat for you and know the industrial laws inside and out ... makes it a level playing field which is the last thing bosses want

no kidding! I agree...I had such a good deal when i was in a union...none of the crap I have to deal with at my current job would have ever happened...I have a hard time with stupid little things like taking my sick time..and when i got married they gave me a hard time for taking FOUR days off!!!
by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 4th, 2008
yeah its beyond a joke what they can do ... and the government lets them while stopping the worker from any protections ... very very one sided
by buxtonite ..slowly losing my mind on February 4th, 2008
