I'm a tolerant individual by nature. But when we shake the family tree out drop many "types" of people - cultural, racial, sexual orientation, religions. Mind that is the "extended" family. My own parents are... bigoted to the inth degree. Although raised in that environment I do not see myself passing on those family traditions. So I would not "ban" my child from being friends with the boy, and I would try to explain that sexuality is a complex thing when it comes to humans.

I agree with Athrael's answer. But also knowing teens as I do (I work with them, S, G, B, L, & TG) And we have all been one..... If told NOT to do something, that's the first thing I'd want to do. Same with being told to DO something, I wouldn't. I believe the same goes pretty much across the board. Its the "forbidden fruit" thing, going against authority, getting away with something, etc. The more one is told no, the more one will try to do it. Have a heart-to-heart with your kids, be honest, and let them make up their own minds on things that shape their lives and who THEY are - not who you WANT them to be. You won't alienate your children and will keep the communication open at the dinner table... :)
