  • If she owed you money I'm all for it.
  • It depends. If you called her and she said it was ok, then its ok, but if you didn't then things could possibly get messy. At least you have the cash though.
  • Did she leave you with lots of bills and a lease and such? Then keep it all.
  • It all depends on how long it was left "in your custody". If she left on Monday and you sold it on Wednesday then yes, it is harsh. But if she left in August and you sold it in January then I say good for you!
  • Depends on how long ago she moved out. If it was a while back, then it's her fault for leaving it. If it was like, yesterday, then I can see her being pissed.
  • As long as you notified her before disposing of her property and gave her ample time to make arrangments to pick it up, don't feel bad.
  • That's actually illegal if it's under a certain amount of time. She could take you to court.
  • My brother was put in jail for a period of several motnhs. His roommate sold his stuff, even though my family helped him pay rent for a couple of months. He didn't notify us or my brother (I have full power of attorney) that he was going to sell it, He told us HIS brother was sharing the place with him and that he was going to just stay in the place and use my brother's stuff until he was released. This guy's done time too, but has a decent job. Can I sue him for the replacement cost for my brothers Camera, HD TV, fancy bedroom set? Can I file theft charges?
  • Sorry, I think I just posted a question as an answer.
  • No not at all, how much will you take for it?
  • no.as long as you told him/her what you've done.
  • not at all...she obviously doesn't care about it...i mean, unless she aksed ya to hang on to it for her or something lik,e that...
  • I don't know where you live but, under certain circumstances you need to hold that furniture for a period of time and make some act towards returning it before you can sell it. Selling it without holding it can be illegal.
