  • I would say no since it's a dealer telling you this. The only reason you would have to replace all 4 tires is if the other 3 tires are VERY worn & much older. If the other 3 need replacing, it's because of uneven tread wear or dry rotting has been noticed on them. Take it somewhere else like Sears automotive department & get a 2nd & 3rd opinion. Never trust the dealers.
  • I don't think it's true at all, unless there is a recall on the brand of tire. The rule of thumb is to replace 2 tires. The new tires go on the back and the older tires go on the front. This helps to keep balance, but it's not mandatory.
  • I wouldn't think so. If it is the front tire, check both front tires for wear. Generally I buy tires in twos so the tread pattern is the same and even. This improves the handling and makes stopping the car far safer. Unless it's a manufacturing fault, someones just trying to sell you things you don't need.
