Finally, I figured out why the buttons go from grey to gold (beside my avatar) How long did it take YOU to figure it out?

Well, I've been on here several months and someone asked a question about why they turn from grey to gold, and I asked them what they were talking about because I had never even noticed them! lol

What took me so long was, from day one, my lights were stuck in the "on" (or orange) position. I marked everything as being "read" and did everything I was supposed to, to get the lights to go off. Finally, one day about 6 months in, I decided I was going to go thru every single question, answer, comment, etc., to find out why the lights were stuck in the "on" position. About half-way thru, I looked up, and the lights were all off! It is so much easier now to know when I need to respond to something. I always knew what they were for, I just couldn't get them to work right.

I think I figured it out right away. Don't get me wrong, that was probably a fluke! :)
