I'm not aware of any satanist crap in the pledge of allegiance. I don't think it's the christian religion people have a problem with -- the problem is that if separation of church and state is expected, than god doesn't belong in the pledge of allegiance. You shouldn't have to espouse faith in god to make a pledge of allegiance to your country.

well not everyone is a christian. As for the Satanic things, they are the most persecuted, someone goes out into public wearing a Satanic symbol, or reads the Satanic bible in pulic, they are frowned upon, and usually harassed(IE, my middle school, and a friend of mine) I think anything that has to be said in public should not have any religious influence whatsoever, religion should never be involved in anything governmental, including the pledge.

Think of it this way... Would you be happy to say the pledge of allegiance if it said "under Allah" or "under Satan"? Not everyone is a christian and I guess people don't like to pledge allegiance to a god they don't believe in. I don't think it has anything to do with people having issues with christianity.

I think because Christianity teaches an all knowing and all seeing God has established a set of standards. If you fail to meet the standards, as we all do, you must go to Him and ask forgiveness. That makes the rebellious world want to strike out in hate. They will not accept that they are responsible to anyone or anything. They want to do what they want and be responsible to no one, least of all a God they have never seen. So they ridicule, and slander, and flat out lie, trying to make people think Christians are fools. It is all a matter of foolish pride and rebellion against the authority of a kind and loving God and submission to Him.

Do not forget that God has warned us in his word that this would happen. The world is runed by Satan and he blinded the eyes of many .

I used to think it was silly to want to change the Pledge too (if our founding fathers wrote it, it should carry some weight), but then I found out "Under God" wasn't written into the original; they added it during the Cold War because in those days Christianity was synonymous with patriotism and America and apple pie and all that. So not only is it a blatant infringement on separation of church and state, it's a relic of xenophobic assimilation and blind hate. So it's not just a matter of disliking Christianity.

Its all part of the persecution. If God was not real , do you really think there would be all that stuff against us doing the Godly thing. Jesus is real , the devil is real and mad as anything. He does not stop influencing people against Godly things. God knows all whats going on . Just keep looking up.

This argument is a dead end that will go nowhere! We live in a country that when founded was set up as a CHRISTIAN country with a clearly CHRISTIAN government. Funny though over the years and with the influx of people coming to this great, religiously tolerant country from many different religiously opressed countries the founding father's religion of choice is being stamped out. We are giving up our country's christian heritage in order to avoid offending the many different cultures that have not so subtly taken over our own! All of the talk of the seperation of church and state is particularly interesting because in the Declaration of Independence God was acknowledged and mentioned. Are we going to cut up and paste that historical document to placate all of the politically correct fanatics next? Where does it end? I for one will always wish people a "Merry Christmas" and never forget that I used to live in a Christian nation that was proud and free not scared and inoffensive!

I think you're confusing two arguments. Just because people want "under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance doesn't mean they have a problem with the Christian religion - it just means they don't want to have to pledge themselves to someone they don't believe in. As for Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas, I just had this conversation with a co-worker of mine. This is just my opinion, but I have no problem with someone telling me to have Merry Christmas even though I don't celebrate it because I know that it's there's really just a good thought behind those words. It's not like they're saying "Have a Merry Christmas...or else!" or anything like that. However, I empathize with the people who get frustrated because it can be frustrating (especially toward the end of the season when you've heard it from everyone). The best example I can think is this: Imagine your birthday is coming up next Friday (I use birthday because most everyone feels that their birthday is a day that means a lot to them specifically like a Christian would view Christmas or a Pagan, Yule) and everyone you see and have seen for a whole month before your birthday keeps telling you "Have a good Tuesday!". Now, you know that that is very nice of them to be wishing you to have a good day, but after a while it just starts to take its toll - almost like it feels like you are the only one that really cares about your birthday. - So, it's nice and okay, just bear with us if we get a little frustrated every once in a while; we appreciate the thought. And as for the "satanist crap", I believe only Christianity and Islam (and possibly Judaism) believe in Satan, so there's nothing really to mind for us. (In fact, even members of the Church of Satan do not worship the Satan of Christianity, but instead an ancient power god who also goes by the name of Satan.) Actually the only people I've ever heard complaining about Christmas greetings were Christians complaining about receiving Seasons Greetings or Happy Holidays. The Pledge of Allegiance and various Oaths of Office are a different matter, since they are a requirement in various situations. They are therefore unconstitutional.

Lots of people look at organized religion and see all the bad stuff it has done in the world--plagues, congquest, the crusades, fanatics, witch hunts, slave-like missions...the list goes on and on. I don't think anyone has anything against the Christian religion, I think it's just the idea of organized religion in general. It just so happens that it's the Christians who are the loudests and get the worst raps. But that's just my speculation; I could be wrong.

I don't say the pledge of allegience or salute the flag because I don't think it is Biblical to do so. If you want to change it go ahead. I also beleive Christmas is a lie created by Satan, so Happy Holidays doesn't bither me either. The world doesn't mind the Satanic stuff out there because Satan is the prince and ruler of this world (for now)
