well, I know that dogs mouths have special enzymes that help to rid their mouths of bacteria(we don't)..which is why they can eat almost any nasty thing without getting sick1

dog's saliva can help heal its own wounds but NOT a human's. they have a "clean" mouth for themselves naturally, but personally, my dogs breath stinks, a dip in the toilet would do it wonders

It's sort of a myth, actually. Dogs mouths are really effective at cleaning their own wounds (removes dead tissue and an enzyme in their saliva helps hair regrowth), but are by no means "clean". Technically speaking you can get sicker by kissing a human than you can by a dog because most of the bacteria in there is species-specific.
