They probably try - but become unsuccessful at do this because of their inability to fly at "high" altitudes. And or the light needs to have a "silhouette" of some kind.

Id also like to add that the sun is very bright and that the light could seem ubiquitous.

They don't fly towards the sun because when it's day and the sun is shining, there is light everywhere. When it is night and therefore dark, they are attracted to the nearest source of light or warmth. Predators know there's food sources near, and those that would be prey can sense the predators more easily!

I wish they would especially in the summer. I attract mosquitos like bees to flowers.

They navigate by what they mistakenly think to be the sun, ie bright lights

It is abit far for them to fly I would guess. :)

Gravity and lack of oxygen. They would never make it and they know it.

they are very little and smart enough (i think) to relize that its very far away.

The atmosphere is not thick enouhg for them to fly that high.
