  • The good: time spent playing happily with children. A visit to the original Legoland in Denmark. Making my own models when I was young - and not young. The bad: Stepping barefoot on a Lego piece in the dark. As a child, being given an emergency emetic to bring back the piece I had swallowed. Looking at the huge bucket of Lego pieces and wondering how much we had paid for it all.
  • Ahem. . .I still play with them :)
  • I remember in my childhood, I had a HUGE box of Lego bricks. I remember times when my Mum & Dad went out in the evenings sometimes, and one of my neighbours used to 'child-mind' (me) for them. He was a few years older than myself, (probably in his 'teens', when I was in 'single figures), and we used to get my box of Lego, and build huge towers with them. Happy days! :-)
  • I remember I used to be a huge Lego fanatic back when I was younger. I still love them now, but I prefer the old sets. I have boxes upon boxes of legos and parts. I loved it!
  • One of the best Christmas presents I ever got as a child. It was a big set that came in its own little red suitcase. I used to make cars for my troll dolls and race them against my sister's. I remember though that there were never enough of the small, two-slot, grey ones, good for making the bumpers on my cars. And never enough wheels either! I think the old sets without all the "accessories" the newer sets have were better for developing a child's creativity and imagination. Possibly the best toy ever invented.
  • THE BIG legos, I loved them, I used to bonk my younger brother in the head with them so much. :) Childhood memories....*lol*
  • I loved to play with Lego as a kid and still have a lot of the Lego I had then. I have also bought a few of the more complicated kits as a adult. They are enjoyable no matter your age I reckon. My little nephew seems to like them a lot (but I think my brother still gets a lot of joy when he plays with the Lego with his son). I loved seeing the Legoland display that used to be in the toy section of Myer in the city annually - it was huge and I always wanted to go to the real Legoland!
  • I loved legos as a child. I would build entire cities out of them...and then smash them like Godzilla. hehehe
  • I used to play with the big lego blocks when I was around 5. It was pretty fun building houses, castles and that type of stuff. Thanks Lego for the memories!
  • I tried to build as tall a Lego tower as I possibly could, but this was inside in my room. I should have thought to build it outside so the ceiling wouldn't get in the way. Chevalier Daniel C. Boyer
  • As a kid, I liked them. As a mom, I didn't enjoy that they made good landmines when left on the floor.
  • They sure don't do well in filling out a pastrami sandwich, lemme tell ya! :o)
  • Yeah, when I was a kid, during the summer, all of the kids would get together, and build something, and then we would all try to make them into one big thing, it was quite fun!!!
  • My son is a lego freak. When he and his wife got married we hand-painted lego bride and groom party favors for the guests. We even glued veils on the brides. I now hang my set on my Christmas tree every year.
  • My son got Legos for every occasion, and he had more fun with them. He could make all kinds of things. It kept him busy and he loved them. I think he still has them. Saving them for his own someday, wow, 50.
  • I used to love them.I bought many lego sets as a child. At first i created the thing the set i bought was for,and then i mixed every set in a big bag and then used all the different parts to construct my own things.I often shared them with a friend and we had great time playing with our constructions :P.Long live lego, even if when i grow up they will be landmines on the floor as shopping sheryl said.
  • Actually, I grew up with an erector set, not Legos. But my kids loved 'em! I'm STILL picking pieces up now and then, even though my youngest is 16 and long past any interest in them.
  • I have learned that legos can cause serious injuries when stepped on with bare feet. I played with legos and when I had children, I gave them my legos so Now I have huge rubbermaid bins full of them and my youngest begs for new ones constantly. Did you know that original legos fit with every lego set created since the first set? Legoland is awesome.
