Sure, Why not? The more Educated the children are about these weapons, the more likely it is for them NOT to have an accident with them! I believe it is important to teach kids at a young age about guns, usage and safety!

If it likely they will handle guns in the future (Mainly hunting) it is always good to start young. My father always stressed gun safety. About age 12 I got my first gun, a 410 breach loading single shot shotgun. It taught me to be very careful with my one shot. I only hunted birds and rabbits. I'm cautious about even unloaded guns and am very dillegent in not pointing guns I know are unloaded at people.

No. Not in Australia, anyway. We have very few gun deaths, and a move like that would inevitably bring the number up.

I think so, but I am unsure of the age we should begin at. I have a 7 year old that I have been teaching about guns. I have taken him out to shoot once and he is now begging me to take him hunting with me. I now an sure he understands the dangers of guns, but his teacher at school feels that my son is TOO fascinated with guns. She is worried because all of his share stories at this time are related to guns and shooting. I'm worried that I might have introduced him to the world of shooting too early. Thoughts?
