As humans, we are very significant, as God created us to oversee the animals and the plants and each other. Unlike the plants, animals and even the angels, we can talk to God and God hears and answers our prayers. Only humans can have a personal relationship with God. God chose his Son to die for humans, and not for the plants, or the animals, or even the angels, as they have already made their choice when Satan rebelled, and took 1/3 of the angels. In summary, we are the most significant of God's creation, and if we accept God's Son, Christ, as our savior and ask forgiveness for our sins, we can live eternally with God in heaven and see all of our family that were saved and all the saints that were mentioned in the Bible, for they are in heaven with God now.

I think significance is a funny thing. Everyone is significant, in that with or without them situations could've had very different endings, with either good or bad outcomes. I don't know if that makes much sense, or if it even answered your question, but thats what I think about significance...
