Grab a glass of water and watch some mind numbing TV.

Good question; tough isn't it? I usually ending up calling the person I dreamed about and often I find that something was going on with them and they needed someone to talk to. Otherwise, it usually passes in a few days but drives me nuts in the meantime so I do as JohnThePyro said and try to get my mind off of it.

Just wait it out. Hope it goes away...

Unfortunately, it will always be there. I have a had a couple of really scary vivid dreams. They seem so real. I woke up hyperventilating from one of my dreams.

What can I do if can't get it out?Moan!

When I have great or vivid dreams and they are still with me when I wake up I write them down and make a story out of em :)
-
Call them? Someone did that with me last week.

I know exactly how you feel. Just the other week I had a dream about my mom dying (she just passed in october) and that I had a way to stop it and fix it, but I just made things worse. You just try to forget but sometimes it will hit you hard. Son, it will just be another nightmare to add to the list.

gm MentalMum sometimes I dream of my exwife and old life and they are really vivid

nothing..eventually it will sort itself out.

If it's about a person I tell that person about it. If I can that is, Johnny Depp no longer takes my calls....lol

I like to journal anyway, so I find it helpful to write it down. For me, once it's written on paper, it's out of my head and I can move on and refer later if I choose to.
