No, if i disagree I start an argument and usually give points, and if they offend me I still state my answer and give points. I down rate only with stupid questions and questions that really really offend me and a lot of other people. So i only downrate if it is absolutely necessary.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and shouldn't be knocked for it. Everyone has something to contribute, and it's not always going to be the same thing I have to contribute. If a question is particularly offensive, i.e. the poster attacks someone personally or posts something obviously meant to offend, then they get flagged. But I think it's the spirit of AB to let everyone feel free to put their voice out their, regardless of what they believe.

Never. I downrate only rarely, usually when they are wrong about something important and I don't want their answer to be high enough to be considered correct. And I always say why I did it and what was wrong. They usually will change their answer and I then go back and give them points instead:-)

I downrate Q&A that I find really offensive.

I don't downrate them but I don't give them a "top of the line" rate, either. I really do try to rate them as to how "helpful" the question is. The problem with that, though, the question of "helpful for WHAT" always remains, so it can be difficult to know what an appropriate rating should be. Its opinion anyway; one person might find the answer very helpful and another, not at all.
