In the US all piercings are done without parental consent at 18. Some places will let you get it done at any age with parental consent... other better places will only do it 16 and older with parental consent. And Parental consent= them being there in person.

Pretty much 16 with an adult 18 w/o one. im 14, i did my own. just b/c it worked for me doesnt mean anything. i do all my own piercings and dont trust others. I dont recomend it ive seen others try to do what i do and thigns go bad

I didn't know it was a requirement. =P

In California you had to be of adult legal age (18) for a piercer to do any work on you unless you have your legal guardian sign his/her consent. I believe that is nation wide. The piercer I went to did not pierce anyone younger than 16 even with parental consent.

in the uk i think it is 17, i had mine done at 14, i didnt get asked for ID but then again i had an adult with me
-
The place I went to didn't even ask how old I was, it depends where you go.

You don't have to get a tongue piercing at any age unless you live in Papua New Guinea.

I most certainly hope there is not an age at which you have to get a tongue piercing. I hate piercings other than the ear and even in the ear really don't do much for me.
-
You aren't required that at any age
-
Here you have to be 18 to get any type of piercing unless you are with an adult or if you go to a creepy place and look kinda old.

If you can spell tongue, that's half the battle.
