I don't think that was so much a case of lack of maturity as it is an example of extreme STUPIDITY. But to answer your question, by the time you are entering your 20's you should be well on your way to becoming a functioning adult. But it's a gradual process......it isn't like waking up one morning and ......TA DA! PREST-O CHANGE-O!!!!!! YOU ARE NOW AN ADULT!!!!!! Life experiences and knowledge are what gains you maturity.

I once had an older Russian lady, when I was complaining about my teenage children at the time, tell me, "My dear, our children only mature through the hardships they endure." I've never forgotten that. It's so hard for me to watch my gkids who are teenagers now, struggle. It hurts me to see them make such stupid mistakes and suffer from them. As much as it did with my children. Ok, that's enough. Thanks.
