What can someone do if they feel they were sexually assaulted by a police officer, and they feel the Police Department are doing nothing?

Maybe go to the State Police...they have more jurisdiction.

Get a good lawyer, The police department will bow out, as they always do. They don't want to be the next Rodney King case. Just to add, police often "protect their own" so to speak, I would advise you not to trust what they say. Then again I'd advise you to never trust a cop at all, but thats just me.
