I was behind a guy on a crotch rocket today on the freeway and it made me wonder, does driving bent over like that hurt your back? And if so, how can they keep going for miles?

Crotch rockets are definatly not made for long distance ridding. Get a harley for that type of ridding. :-)

I have been riding sportibikes (crotch rockets) for several years. i have yet to have a sore back. However depend on which sportbike it is some other things may feel uncomfortable. The seats are normally pretty stiff and about the only other thing that might start to hurt is your wrists or may get stiffness in you legs from the tucked position. True they weren't built for comfort they were built for racing.

If you can keep up with them, which is highly doubtful, most racing bikes have a license to speed enclosed in the owners manual, you will notice that the rider will try to straighten their backs when they come to a stop. Otherwise we are very comfortable for about 60-80 miles, then we need a break.

Let's just put it this way I love riding my rocket but only for a hour or 2. But one day when I'm old and want to be loud and go slow and have the money to bring my bike in every week to fix it I'll bye a Harley.
