  • This depends entirely on the personalities of your animals, and their tolerance levels.
  • Well I have 5 cats and two dogs. One of my cats, Mama Kitty only gets along with the dogs. She hates all of the other cats. All four of the other cats are not bothered by the dogs at all. Mama Kitty actually used to play with a dog I recently lost. She gets along with the other two, but she has never played with them. My Lil' Bit (the youngest cat) is always trying to get the dogs to play with her, but they won't.
  • My younger cat gets along fine with my daughter's chihuahua. The dog loves the cat, the cat tolerates the dog as long as he's not hyperactive. I've seen them sleeping in the hallway next to each other.
  • With proper socilization cats and dogs can get along just fine. I'm not sure that animals have "friends" as humans define it at least.
  • Mine get along well. The dog plays with the cats.It helped to raise them together.
  • my cats a dogs have always gotten on very very well ...why? because my dogs learned from day one the cats were the boss...lol...lol
  • Sure, they can get along. Don't push the issue, if it is meant to be it will be.
  • If you raise a dog and a cat together from when they're very young, it's likely they will become good friends.
