I was once up for three days at a 24/7 university computer lab doing nothing useful whatsoever (playing computer games and posting messages on the early 1990s equivalent of "AnswerBag", UseNet News). Untreated bipolar disorder was the most likely reason. Incidentally, having done both, staying up three days is remarkably equivalent to a hit of LSD.

About 76 hours or so . I had insomnia and was dead tired but could not go to sleep. Finally I "Borrowed" a couple of Valium from a family member and went to sleep.

I seem to remember a couple of 48-hour days/nights in college.

About 36 hours when the plant that I worked at blew up and we needed to re-wire it.

Straight wake: For recreation: probably about 50 hours. For work: probably about 30. For school: probably about 3 or 4.

For funnnnnn: 58 (it was a caffeine-supplied contest) :) For work: 35 (on more than a couple occassions)
