  • has the disc got scratches on it or it could be the console because most of the new consoles have problems
  • There is No waiting with Sony, My PS3 went and i cannot praise there customer enough, called them up. NEXT DAY EXCHANGE TO MY HOUSE!. and you can have a laugh with the guys on the phone :). Something to think about......
  • Sounds to me like it might be that one game disc is messed up. It is playing other games ok, or does it do that with any game you play on it? Does the same game disc play ok on someone else's PS3?
  • the discs are all spotless and the problem persists across all my games yet i have no problem watching movies
  • Same problem. Let me know what you do. I don't have receipt so I hope sony will do something. Please though if you figure this out let me know. Thanks
  • I had similar issues and it turned out to be the hard drive that was going bad. I even reformatted completely and still experienced the same problems. Instead of waiting for Sony, I went ahead and purchased a 2.5 inch 250GB 5400 RPM SAS notebook drive and replaced the one in the PS3 with it (I was going to anyway). Problems completely went away after that. Just a hint: You'll probably need a flash drive and another computer with internet connection that you can use to load the latest PS3 software update from Sony's site onto before attempting to replace the drive.
