  • did he say that? Give links.
  • If he said that he went too far!
  • The present Pope is, to say the least, an ignorant man in the true sense of the term and an embarrassment to many more enlightened members of the Church. Bear in mind though that at one time he was the head of the The Office for the Preservation of the Doctrine of the Faith (TOPDF) and a lot of things begin to fall into place. Oh and the TOPDF is probably better known to most as The Inquisition (and yes it still exists).
  • yes but it wom't happen, the man is an idiot. He came out with another 'gem' this past week as well: he said that everyone should pray to God to remove all those in the clergy that have, or have been involved in, child abuse - he said that praying is the way to eradicate it and God will (basically) weed out the sex-cases. Personally, I think a list of names and addresses given to the Police would be more effective don't you? What a stupid, blinkered old man he is - let's hope he expires sooner rather than later.
  • No, because he never said that. And he shouldn't have to apologize for stories ignorant and prejudiced idiots make up about him to cause controversy. Be careful messing with us Catholics. We're feisty.
  • i wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an apology. look how long it took the church to apologize for other atrocities or scandals.
  • He said it was a "threat to peace". That coming from the Leader of a Church whose "priests" have been abusing children the world over and who buried the fact for centuries, moving the "priests" to another parish rather than address the issue!
