All depends on how much and what type of work you want to do. Adobe photoshop (5.0, 5.5, cs2 etc:) Is excellent imaging software for this type of work, but a bit pricey if you do not intend to be using it often. Paint shop pro is a lot less expensive, but less powerful, and may not have all the bells and whistles you need to use. You can get functional trials of both at their websites, to see which you might prefer. It all depends on the quality. there are cheap versions out there but, you get what you pay for. Adobe is very easy to use and great quality. Take those into consideration
