  • Are there any government clubs in your school? Students for democracy, or something? Get involved in that. Politics and lawyers are surprisingly related.
  • Start saving up for that Jaguar and practice acting pompous.
  • Join the debate team.
  • the debate club if you have one
  • Start to systematically stifle your conscience and learn to slowly 'unlearn' concepts like ethics and morals...
  • Take a speed reading course. You can serve yourself best by being the fastest reader -- trust me on this. I've seen the ones who succeed and they don't skim their bales and bales of documents, they only look like it. They read, and fast!
  • as long as you are hard working and you have the determination and drive to succeed you will go so far! Never second guess yourself and your morals, i am 24 and i have just completed my Law Degree in London, England - i have never gone against my morals, ignore what people say about people that work within the law, they are usually insulted by those who do not abide by the laws of the land!! You will make millions and go far if you believe in yourself!! Peace.
  • Don't listen to any of these cretins who generalize all lawyers being amoral ambulance chasers. That is not the case at all. If you want to work in politics, get involved with a political minded club and the debate team. I didn't do anything law-related in high school or college and managed to get into a top tier law program. All you need to do is do well in college, make good with a few professors, and rock the LSAT.
  • learn very good learning skills. be organised and start researching people i help with investigations and luckily i have obsessive compulsive disorder so I'm very organised. i said about researching people because they never tell the whole truth and they will end up making you the attorney looking like the fool.
  • Take as many writing/English courses as you can. The best lawyers (and judges) are those who can clearly and concisely communicate their ideas. It is amazing how many lawyers are terrible writers...don't be one of them.
  • Yes there are several. Take a civics class or government class also if you can. Pay close attention to history classes. If you have a pre-law class in school take that. Do yourself a favor and learn now how to write and speak effectively. Join the debate club if you have one. Critical importance is your grades and study habits. If you don't study learn to, even if things come to you with out studying. Learning proper study habits, and note taking skills are a must. Learn to handle reading and understanding large amounts of material quickly. When you get to college if you do not get at least a B+ average law schools will not look at you. Most have cut offs for grades at that level. Your major in college is really not critical in general so pick something you like and will be good at. Hope this helps and good luck.
  • Take education seriously.
