According to the Catholic church, the present Pope, but the papal genealogy is not too accurate. There are gaps, schisms and times when there were two or even three popes. Other branches of the church do not accept that the Pope is THE successor of Peter. After all, Peter also traditionally founded Antioch. The Patriarch there (according to a friend of mine who knew him) went to see the Pope in the 80s, and the headlines read "Two successors of Peter meet". My friend mischievously asked the Patriarch, if both were successors of Peter, which one was infallible. The patriarch's answer "Must be him, because I know it's not me!" IMO a theologically correct answer and a humble one.
