Absolutely but only if this person has exhausted every other option I mean just not sticking to the diet plan and not being strong enough because you can still try support groups and you may be able to achieve your goal but if you have done everything you humanly can Doctors will do it if you're one hundred pounds over weight but I personally think people should be at least 150 lbs over as long as your health is good not heart problems or anything that can jeaperdize your wonderful life then by all means I wish you the best do it and make yourself happy again don't stay trapped inside of depression sincere Good Luck and very Best Wishes to you!

It can be as long as you do it for the right reasons. Within a few months of having his surgery, my stepdad no longer had to take his high blood pressure or diabetes medications. It was a god-send.

hell no because all it does is put u under surgery and u will be in major pain because they cut u open in several places and it hurts like hell

It is an awesome answer for someone who meets all the requirements for the surgery and is mentally ready to make a change in their lifestyle. It saved my life, gave me a second chance in life and I know hundreds of people that have also had the surgery with various results. If you don't change some things you can gain some weight back but like anything you do, if you educate yourself completely before you have surgery, you will have a much better outcome.
