  • Because that's how most girls are portrayed in animes: shy and awkward. On the other hand, anime male heroes are portrayed as strong, powerful and virile.
  • have you seen love hina? lol
  • oh sorry didn see the 'fan'. lol i have a few girl friends who are crazy about anime and they're outwards too. haha guess you haven't seen em all
  • Fan children are, by definition, creepy....both male and female. I'm just speculating here, but I think I might know why anmie fangirls seem weirder than anime fanboys. See, for the most part, the girls and the boys are fans of their own things, with one out of the two genders being the majority of each of these things. But with anime, it's a fairly even spread. The mixing of the two genders of fandom makes it easier to compare them. Meh....
  • Yeah I know, many of the ones Ive met are into piercings/tatoos and all sorts of freaky things, gives me shivers just thinking of their photos! Nevermind that most of them are lesbians anyways! Oh well, whatever blows their hair back, guess an anime loving girl shouldn't be on my prerequisites for a Gf! ;)
  • Well I'd like to think that depends on the anime(s) or manga(s) we read, depends if your infulenced by a character or something in the anime, like example, I'm influenced by Tsuna And Hibari from Katekyo, I have some of their traits, and I dress to impress lawl, but thats not the point, the point is, depending on how the persons social life is, and I just think girls are more awkward and shy about their intrests as teenagers because of there peers, and how they are seen by them, like..they want to be coool, or they just dont talk about their likes for anime or manga, but most guys like what they like and don't care, im not stero-typing anyone (hope im not) but from what i've seen in my life, thats how typical fans act, I feel that all anime fans in high school are awkward and shy because what they enjoy, there passion is seen as un-cool, or stupid, and who likes to be teased? I don't but i'm still open about my love for anime and video games, sure I get an asshole comment here and there, but I have a passion for it because I suck at everything in life, but if I get a question about anime, I'm happy and I can go on, and anime comunity's are where I feel I fit in because the people who are into anime are so cute, down to earth and just all round awsomly amazing people. So keep on rockin' and doot doodle loot do...doo doo! =p
  • well i guess that the girls are just a bit more mature, but certains aren't. the boys usually have they're pervy side but that's pretty much for humor. take fruits basket for example : Shigure: pervy yet he's an adult. Kagura: gentle but is actually very violent. Hanajima: creepy Uo: is a yankee. my point is that it depends one what the writer thinks of boys and girls.
  • pfft, I don't have composure and I'm a boy. but then again, that's not due to the influence of anime, but boredom, and they aren't anime-related spasms but randomly placed jokes. as for fan girls, I have never met a shy, awkward fan girl, although the one thing I've noticed to them is that they're girls. that's the only connection I can make. maybe it's just people -you- know.
  • Obviously you haven't met me. Being humble and all: I'm very normal. (not creepy) But i know what you mean, some girls I've met, are soooo consumed by their enthusiasm that they forget "to get a life" (as Captain Kirk once put it so well) So when a girl has a life, then they other creepy anime fans (boys or girls) disregard them as not truly otakus.
  • i think the answer would be most people like the ones you described are more willing to admit that they like anime than those who aren't "awkward" or "creepy." People who aren't like that are more afraid that they'll get that stereotype if they admit to liking it. It has nothing to do with the anime itself. Just the fear of stereotypes.
  • yea, she knows what she is talking bout, i, being a guy, am greatful to have some friends that like anime and some tht dont, they all know i watch it, but they are cool enough not to care if i do or not. Most girls you would think of as "anime girls" are the hxc decked out naruto headband, black and white gloves, long boots and a short skirt with some awesome hair. those girls are comfortable with other people judging them as they are. most others arent. i have met very few women that watch anime and are cool....i guess we will just have to see
  • Im an anime fangirl but I don't mind going out in public and wearing a costume....so that I look like an anime character it really depends on the girl you know? Some girls may be scared that they will be judged, others just don't feel the need to tell anyone
  • Girls have it worse, having all those extra emotions. I hate them. But maybe they go crazy because it's the only time they think they can enjoy anything. Especially considering that normal life is mostly boring. But seriously...fan boys...not so great. Usually fat and smelly. And stuck-up. And what do you have against shy girls? Not that all anime girls are shy. Would you rather everyone be motormouths?
  • thats just a stereotytpe, one my friends that introduced me to anime isnt creppy at all in fact, she was kinda popular through out high school, and is kinda cute
  • hey u!! i love anime & i'm popular too! so r my other girlpals!!! we r far from silent type!!!..
  • Most fangirls who're in their "kawaii-ness" persona are more "kowaii" than kawaii. The scariest ones are the overly-obsessed, wet-pantied, yaoi fangirls. Sorry, but I'm not the only one who thinks that way.
  • well there's a name for it... otaku xD
  • Dude, think about what you just said! I'm a guy so you know. Amine fans are the same, male or female. We all have our likes and dislikes. There are allot of popular show that are flat out offensive to women and vice versa. Let them enjoy there entertainment. Enjoy what you like. With that mentality do you expect one to warm up to you? "Creepy" That was just a bad idea!
  • Because that is the way men want to see their women. Helpless cowards whom they can rescue and do.
  • i think it's because they get obsessed with anime and the characters easier. emphasis on OBSESSED. lol
  • Females are more likely to be like children. Just like the average child, a boy tends to be 'cool and collected' while girls are overwelmed with emotions such as 'excitment and nervouseness' I too, happen to experience a bubbily emotion when I'm surrounded by objects or people that have the same interests. Being fed up with constant judging of anime being porn, it's only natural to be excited and jumpy. Some girls would also rather have a collected but shy atmousphere for attention. This way, favorite cosplayers and photographers lean closer to their direction.
  • i know what you mean... at my school the anime loving girls are the really nerdy ones who have every unattractive feature possible... I like anime, but I'm not that weird to start acting like an anime character in school or do stuff anime things would do... and yes it is the females who get a bit more creepy with the anime, bc if they dont have a lot of freinds, there going to be shy, so anime looks cool with people like themselves, so they do get awkward.. but that isnt to say that guys cant either.. I've seen guys be extremely shy and quiet, but go very awkward and weird when they see anime or talk about vif games and anime..
  • well im a male and animefan("otaku" word for animefan in japanese)well at least im not creepy, well thats in my case and im going to talk about both boys and girls that are anime fans. i think anime is PART of my world but other animefans think thats their WHOLE WORLD and they start to forget in their appearance and start to look "creepy" and now for your answer girls well some girls i think its just that they dont like to talk to much like some "shcool girls" on an anime or maby some think no one is going to put attention to them until some one talks to them and the start to get nervous and they tend not to get in the conversation just as any shy girl. there lots of very atractive girls that like anime and that there not "CREEPY or SHY" just go to a ANIME EXPO and yull see. in the end all of them are different so dont say all of them are "CREEPY"
  • honestly dude everyone that has spoken made a very good point. honestly i used to be an anime fan or(otaku)but like every one was saying i noticed how creepy people got over it. (not to mention its just animation from japan). But i was always into the sci fi but i started watching american shows and sci fi and they made it all pretty cool without having to make a fantasy world people with pink hair and all that and i began to like it better then the final creepy thing that turned me away from anime for good was when i was surfing the web and i a saw an ad of an anime site i clicked it it took me to a anime porn site but dudes it didnt end there it had a picture of a naked woman and an anime counterpart of her and it said whats better REAL or ANIME most real was 16% anime was 84% and most of the voters had to all be anime fans and i got out of it forever.
  • jeez tell me about it i went out with a girl cos she liked manga and so did i so i thought wed have something to discuss and she turned out to be a lesbian, super shy, awkward and wears fucked up clothes, her gf atm is even worse :p i like manga/anime but it doesnt dominate my life yknow and i think fanboys and stuff do need to get out more, but its not uncool to enjoy these things, like it doesnt automatically make a loser yknow?
