  • Seek counseling and hamster therapy.
  • Take the hamster back to the pet store and get a kitten. You are afraid of your pet and this will only end with your pet being neglected and you feeling guilty. Get a pet that you can readily interact with.
  • cover it in plastic foil or stop being so immature, it's a hamster for crying out loud.
  • I've had many, many hamsters and you will too if you let them breed. Everytime I pick up one of them, I put my hand in the cage in a fist position with the back of my hand facing the hamster. I let them come to me and since it's a flat surface, they can't bite if they want to. You have to approach them gently and let them become comfortable with you first. Once it is comfortable, reverse and open your hand and pet it on the back. If it seems ok with this, then you can cradle your hand and it will usually crawl in. Understand that this is with hamsters who are familiar with my scent, my lack of aggression, and frequent litter/food changes. Also a new hamster does have the possibility of being less friendly simply because it is more cautious could have been mistreated. And lastly, there are a rare few who just have nasty personalities (usually females), in which case I ususally get rid of them because they don't interact well with the others.
  • Well, I have a dwarf hamster, and the way I pick him up is by a wash cloth or rag... If that helps.
  • hello,do what i did once,to get my hamster i tooka box that would fit in the gage and id put it where my hamster would be able to walk into the box, then i took the hamster out of his cage without picking him up.i would however try to interact with your hamster, dont be afraid to handle her, pick her up gently after you get her out of the cage, dont squeeze her,but hold her so she doesnt slip out of your hands.hamsters only bite if theyre being squeezed or hurt.
  • Just do it. Only the first time is scary and then you'll be 4evr glad u did. Then wash.
