Don't really understand the question but if you take it to AutoZone they can give you a free readout of any error codes stored. They can also use the OBD2 reader to reset things, that way you can see what comes up again.

'the car seems to be missing any clicking'?
I'm a bit confused. Is it misfiring? Is it clicking?
If the light says check the engine then I'd first suggest checking the engine...
