  • I am one of those people. Spell check ruined my spelling.
  • Poor education system!!
  • i rather know what something means than how to spell it and some people don't proof read what they send out? why not get a giggle out of it?
  • Prevalence of the so called sms language/internet lingo.
  • well im like one of those people so i aint got no clue how to answer this question
  • I have Spell check when I need help , people come from all over and some of us have trouble with spelling , Though that doesn't mean were stupid or don't deserve to be here
  • I think a lot of people are from different countries and are still learning the language :)
  • I agree there are many non-native English speakers. However, I think a lot of it is laziness or the fact that people rely on spell check and consequently cannot spell as well.
  • Most of them are non native speakers who can speak English, but never learned efficiently at school to write it. If they ask interesting and understandable questions, I answer them with pleasure. If the question is too difficult for me to understand because of spelling errors, I either ignore it or ask for precisions. People from different backgrounds can have some problems learning the language, I understand this. As long as they are not trolling and having some other negative behaviour, I rather consider them a gift for AB.
  • My grown daughter (23) does not spell worth a crap. She did fine in school and only started being that way afterwards. I think she is just lazy. It drives me crazy. I might misspell by hitting the wrong keys. Does misspell have 1 s or 2?
  • Personally I'm not here to proof read anyones work, as long as I can understand the question I'll answer it best I can. I'm guilty of making mistakes but I have better things to do then sit here & go over every question trying to think if its correctly spelled or not. Yes some of our ABers are still learning how to spell it doesn't mean they don't need answers & some of them are young. I would hate to think that I didn't help a kid that was upset asking a question that needed an answer all because they spelled something incorrectly, maybe a life or death situation that they were to scared to ask anyone around them. But thats just my thoughts....
  • I think that it is a sad commentary on people that they don't respect other people enough to use correct spelling, and consequently easy to read questions and answers.
